Honeycomb Productions is a new Bristol-based theatre company, formed in association with Music Theatre Bristol. We will be taking the fast-paced, Tony Award winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August, 2018.
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious stories from their home lives, the kids spell their way through a series of increasingly ridiculous words, guided by three eccentric adult hosts. In comical, touching, and catchy songs, the spellers reveal their hopes and struggles as they make their way through the twists and turns of the competition. With a vibrant score and witty book, the musical is a charming exploration of the highs and lows of adolescence.
